Additional Assistant For Kentucky Families Whose Children Receive Free, Reduced School Lunch

If your child attended a school that participated in Child Eligibility Provisions, then they are eligible for the benefits.

(Frankfort, Ky.) - If your student is on the free and reduced lunch program, Benefind Assistance and Support Program is helping Kentucky families receive benefits. 

In the 2019-2020 school year, Kentucky has approximately 602,200 children qualified for the free and reduced lunch program. That is around 80 percent of the population of children who attend schools, that participate in the national school lunch program. 

Beginning June 1, for 30 days, all eligible public school families will be able to opt-in to receive the benefit by applying on the Benefind website.

Benefits will be processed immediately upon confirmation that the student had access to free or reduced lunch.

If your child attended a school that participated in Child Eligibility Provisions, then they are eligible for the benefits. 

Each child who attends a school that is eligible will receive $313.50 to purchase groceries for him/her. 

The information that is needed to apply is the following:

  • Students First and Last Name
  • Students Date of Birth 
  • Statewide Student ID Number

If you do not know your child's statewide student ID number you can contact their school.
