All-way stop coming to State Road 256 in Jefferson County

Change is being made to improve both the sight-distance and overall safety at the intersection

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) is scheduled to install a new all-way stop along State Road 256 in Jefferson County.

On or after Tuesday, September 8, crews will install an all-way stop at the intersection of S.R. 256 and Grange Hall Road.

Installation of the all-way stop is expected to take up to one day, weather permitting. This change is being made to improve both the sight-distance and overall safety at the intersection. Drivers should use extra caution in the area while motorists adjust to the new traffic pattern.

INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, use extra caution, and avoid distractions when traveling in and near work zones. All work is weather-dependent, and schedules are subject to change.
