Another Big Hit by Deputies Nets Approx. 23 Grams of Meth off the Streets in Scott County and Other Recent Arrests by Deputies Continue to make Scott County Safer

 Scott County-Late Tuesday evening, (9-28-2021), Deputy Zach Brown made a traffic stop on U.S. #31 near Beachwood Street in Scottsburg for a traffic infraction. As the traffic stop continued, Deputy Brown located nearly 24 Grams of Methamphetamine in the vehicle. The passenger, Bethany Sparrow, 36 of Scottsburg, IN was arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine, Maintaining a Common Nuisance and Possession of Paraphernalia. The driver, Korey Sparrow, 37 of Scottsburg, IN was arrested for an Out of County Warrant, Dealing in Methamphetamine, Possession of Methamphetamine, Maintaining a Common Nuisance and Possession of Marijuana/Hash Oil/Hashish or Saliva.    (Photo of Meth seized below).

On September 22, 2021, Deputies arrested Ricky L. Lawless after an investigation by deputies for theft related crimes that Ricky was allegedly involved in. As the investigation progressed deputies found enough evidence to submit to the Scott County Prosecutor's Office for an arrest warrant. Ricky L. Lawless was arrested by deputies for Theft with a Prior Unrelated Charge, Auto Theft and Possession of Paraphernalia.

On September 24, 2021, First Sergeant Charlie Morgan responded to Austin Elementary School on a known sex offender near school property.  Upon arrival, Sergeant Morgan made contact with Jason Morris, age 42, of Scottsburg.  Further investigation led to the arrest of Morris for Failure to register as a Sex Offender.  He was transported to the Scott County Jail.

On September 26, 2021, Deputy Zach Brown responded to a residence in reference to a battery that had occurred.  Upon arrival, Deputy Brown made contact with Jeremy Nease, age 28, of Scottsburg.  Further investigation led to the arrest of Nease for Battery and he was transported to the Scott County Jail.

On September 27, 2021, Sergeant Johnney Coomer and Deputy William Morris arrested Jerry McClintock, age 50, of Lexington for (2) Counts of Invasion of Privacy.  He was transported to the Scott County Jail.

On September 28, 2021, Deputies received information that Michael Jeffries, 55, of Austin, IN was at a residence in Little York, near the Scott County Line. Jeffries had a warrant out of Scott County so deputies went to the address and arrested him for Possession of Methamphetamine, Visiting a Common Nuisance and Possession of Paraphernalia.

On September 29, 2021, Jason Arbuckle, 47 of Scottsburg, IN, was arrested after officers were called to Bogardus Road near the Jennings County line for suspicious circumstances involving a male subject. When deputies arrived they found Jason Arbuckle, who was intoxicated fighting with Scott County EMS. As officers attempted to put him into custody he began fighting deputies. He was arrested for Operating while Intoxicated, Resisting Law Enforcement and Possession of Marijuana/Hash Oil/Hashish or Saliva.

This morning in the early hours, deputies responded to Blocher Railroad Street for a disturbance. After the investigation, Dustin Rice, 23 of Lexington, IN was arrested for Battery, Disorderly Conduct and Public Intoxication (Failure to Comply).
