Arson Fire Damages Residence On Mulberry

Thursday morning at  approximately 3:49 AM The Madison Fire Department, Madison Police Department, and Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department responded to a reported house fire @ 706 Mulberry Street.  Jefferson County Sheriff Deputies Josh Cochran and C.J. Miller found the residence on fire upon arrival. 

 

Deputies located a white male, later identified as Caleb Deeg, standing between the residence on fire and an adjacent residence to the North.  The male had a noticeable cut on his hand and blood was located by deputies near the rear of the unoccupied 706 Mulberry Street residence. Deeg's address is listed on the arrest report as 708 Mulberry.  

 

After further investigation, Deputies Cochran and Miller arrested Caleb A. Deeg 22, Madison, Indiana, for ARSON LEVEL 4 FELONY & BURGALRY LEVEL 5 FELONY.  Deeg was transported to the Jefferson County Jail, after being treated for his injury, where he awaits his initial court appearance for the preliminary alleged charges.
