(Carrollton, Ky.) – Carroll County School District is reminding parents that it is time to register your child for Kindergarten.

If your child will be 5-year-old by August 1, 2021, you can register your child online now. Parents are encouraged to register before the end of the day today April 30. After today, the school will begin conducting in-person Kindergarten screenings the week of May 10 through May 14.

Once your child is enrolled online, you can call the school to schedule your child’s screening date/time.

EXEMPTION:

If your child will be turning 5-year-old between August 2 and October 1, 2021, you may apply for an exemption to start your child early.

To file you will need to fill out a form before May 1 at the school. Filling out an exemption form doesn’t mean that your child will get to start Kindergarten. Parents will need to schedule a screening and a determination will then be made if they are ready to start early.

Before August 1, the following needs to be submitted to KWP:

  • Immunization Records
  • State Birth Certificate
  • Social Security Card
  • Physical, Eye Exam, and Dental Screening (forms can be picked up at school)
  • Proof of Residency (current utility bill, etc.)
