CDC Receiving Reports Of Allergic Reactions To COVID-19 Vaccine

(undated) – The CDC has learned of reports that some people have experienced allergic reactions after receiving the COVID-19 vaccine.

The CDC is recommending to those who have had an immediate reaction to any ingredient in the mRNA COVID-19 vaccine, to not get either of the currently available mRNA COVID-19 vaccines. Also, if you have had an immediate allergic reaction after being administered the first dose of an mRNA COVID-19 vaccine, you should not get the second dose.

The CDC is also recommending that those who are allergic to PEG and polysorbate should not get an mRNA COVID-19 vaccine.  

Polysorbate is not an ingredient in either mRNA COVID-19 vaccine but is closely related to PEG, which is in the vaccines.
