The Library’s summer reading program begins June 2 and ends July 25. All ages are welcome to participate. Youth earn prizes like toys, food coupons, free books, and more! Adults earn drawing entries for weekly gift card drawings. Visit mjcpl.org/summer-reading for reading logs and more details. Prizes can be picked up at the Madison and Hanover Branch locations of the Jefferson County Public Library until July 25.  Youth who complete the summer program are invited to a Pizza Party at the Brown Gym on July 26. There will also be grand prize drawings for youth ages 0-10 and 11-17.

The summer reading program offers many family-friendly programs and activities throughout June and July including crafts, baby/toddler time, animal shows, a petting zoo, magic show, and more. All library programs are free. Some programs require registration. Visit www.mjcpl.org/events for a full listing of library programs or call the main library at 812-265-2744.

The library is incredibly thankful for our generous sponsors Arvin Sango, Friends of the Library, Culver’s, Dairy Queen, McDonald’s and Rockin’ Thunder River Tours. Our reading program exists because of strong support from our community.

Jefferson County Public Library was founded in 1818 and serves the community with opportunities to obtain and use information in a variety of formats, to pursue lifelong learning, to explore recreational interests, and to better understand personal and regional heritage. In addition to books and movies, the library offers community meeting spaces, cultural educational programs, entertainment, one-on-one computer assistance, outreach services to homebound and children, genealogy and local history research assistance, early literacy programs, and reading and viewing suggestions. Jefferson County Public Libraries locations include Madison and Hanover, Indiana.
