Scottsburg, Ind (October 25, 2022) – With an anticipated 2,000 ghouls and goblins and their families planning their big zombie walk in downtown Scottsburg for next Monday’s Haunted Downtown and Trunk-or-Treat, safety is a top priority. In an effort to eliminate driving traffic around the square to keep our children safe, the Scottsburg Common Council approved unanimously to close the streets around the Scott County Courthouse for the few hours (5:00 to 8:00 PM) for the Scottsburg Main Street event. The street affected are First Street from S.R. 56 to Cherry Street. Wardell Street from Second Street to Main Street and Main Street from Cherry to S.R. 56.

This year’s Scottsburg Haunted Downtown and Trunk-or-Treat begins at 6:00 PM and will close at 8:00 PM. This year’s business participation has the largest number of businesses, clubs and organizations partaking than ever before with eighty-two (82) businesses, clubs, and organizations spread-out over downtown Scottsburg distributing candy and more to all trick-or-treaters. A map will be distributed by Scottsburg Main Street identifying all the participating local businesses and to help those ghouls and goblins, so they don’t miss out on any of the sweet treats being passed out.

Scottsburg Main Street would like to thank Chief Zellers and the City of Scottsburg Police Department and Sheriff Goodin and the Scott County Sheriff’s Office for their support in keeping the children of Scott County safe this Halloween. We want to remind everyone dive safely and be aware of kids trick-ortreating this Halloween season.

As a reminder, the Scottsburg Haunted Downtown and Trunk-or-Treat is a FREE and family friendly events. Come downtown Scottsburg and enjoy a haunting good time!
