Arrest was made thanks to a tip
On Wednesday November 21, 2018, Jefferson County Deputy / School Resource Officers Jacob McVey and Tim Armstrong arrested Sean Monroe 31, Madison, Indiana, for possession of a controlled substance level 6 felony.
The officers were detailed to the Madison and Southwestern basketball game (Turkey Shootout) at Madison Consolidated High School, when information was received, by Detective Yancy Denning, of possible drug activity at the game involving Mr. Monroe. The accused was later located and as a result of the investigation, officers found Monroe to be in possession of a controlled substance, and a knife.
Sean Monroe was taken into custody and transported to the Jefferson County Jail where he awaits his initial court appearance on the preliminary alleged charges of possession of a controlled substance level 6 felony and possession of a knife on school property a misdemeanor. The accused has the presumption of innocence until proven guilty.
