DRUGS VALUED AT OVER A HALF A MILLION DOLLARS SEIZED IN NORTH VERNON

The drugs seized was estimated to have a street value of over $500,000.00.

On 4/15/22, the Jennings County Sheriff’s Office opened an investigation into an illegal drug enterprise after Deputies recovered 124 pounds of marijuana, 1 pound of psychedelic mushrooms, 3 pounds of THC resin, THC edibles and numerous other items consistent with a large distribution operation. The investigation eventually led deputies to a Geneva Township residence and storage unit where search warrants were executed at both locations.

During the search of both locations, Marijuana, nearly 500 grams of suspected THC wax, THC edibles, THC Vapes, packaging material and over $40,000.00 in US currency was seized. Christopher Unsworth (47 of North Vernon) was placed under arrest for Possession of Marijuana Level 6 Felony and Dealing in Marijuana Level 6 Felony and was transported to the Jennings County Jail.
