Food Pantry Of Carroll County Moving Distributions To Friday

While there is no pre-certification required for these programs, proof of Carroll County residency is required.

(Carrollton, Ky.) - Due to the inclement weather, distributions of commodities by the Food Pantry of Carroll County have been moved from Wednesday, February 17 to Friday, February 19.

The food pantry will be serving Seniors from 10:00 a.m. until noon. All other county residents will be served from 2:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. Those who attend the food pantry are asked to remain in their vehicles and wear a mask. 

The pantry is located at 113 Third Street. 

The Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) is a federally funded program with the goal of improving the health of low-income individuals aged 60 and older. CSFP eligibility is 130 percent of poverty guidelines. Individuals with an income of $1,383.00 per month or less must sign up after providing proof of age and Carroll County residency to be certified for the program. Certification is required every six months with food being distributed once per month. 

The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TFAP) is a federally funded program that provides supplemental food to low-income households. Households whose total income is less than 130 percent of the poverty level are eligible to receive food one time each month. A family of four earning less than $4,040.00 per month is eligible for food. 

While pre-certification is not required for these programs, proof of Carroll County residency is required. Proof of residency can be in the form of a driver's license with current address; utility bill; rent receipt or current lease agreement. 

One of these items must be shown in order to receive food. 

Seniors in the CSFP program are also eligible to receive commodities once per month through the TFAP program.
