(Jefferson County, Ind.) - In light of the current pandemic, Girls Inc. plans to remain closed until at least May 1.

"We join our national affiliates and our area school systems in working to do what is best for the community and slow the spread of COVID-19. School and youth service organizations work to stay at the forefront of keeping youth safe and helping them thrive, this is no different," stated Girls Inc.

Now due to the closure Girls inc. is looking into new ways to help keep the girls thrive.

One of the things that they are working on is virtual outreach, they will be using Facebook to stay connected, regularly posting at least two engaging and hands-on activities per day that can be done using household items.

They will be breaking these hands-on activities into three different categories, Stay Active at Home, Stay-at-Home STEM, and Be Bold at home. These three categories roughly aline with Girls Inc. core values of Smart, Stong, and Bold.

Another way they will be reaching out is through Google Classroom.

They will still be having virtual office hours from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., where a staff member will be actively checking messages via their Facebook page, Girls Inc. of Jefferson County, IN and the email address of girlsinc.jeffco.in@gmail.com

They will also be regularly checking voicemails if you would like to call them at (812) 265-5863.

"Please reach out to us if there is any way we can help, even if you just need someone to listen or give feedback," stated Girls Inc.
