Governor appoints Holly Williams Lambert as Indiana Insurance Commissioner
                                  
NDIANAPOLIS-Governor Eric J. Holcomb announced today that Amy Beard will be stepping down as the Commissioner of the Indiana Department of Insurance. Gov. Holcomb named IDOI Chief of Staff Holly Williams Lambert, who has been with the agency since 2011, as Indiana Insurance Commissioner and Chief of Staff.
Lambert will assume the role as Insurance Commissioner on Oct. 16.
Beard was appointed as Insurance Commissioner in June 2021 after serving as general counsel of the IDOI since 2017.
Under her leadership, the Indiana Department of Insurance accomplished the following:
- Launched the All Payer Claims Database website
- Added 11 domestic insurers in Indiana
- Implemented the cyber security reporting law and portal
- Created a team to regulate pharmacy benefit managers
- Implemented a consumer complaint portal
Amy’s last day as Commissioner will be Oct. 15.
Lambert studied communications at Purdue University and earned her J.D at Cooley Law School.
