(Hanover, Ind.) - The Hanover Parks Board is elated at the level of activity going on around the park this year after not having much activity, especially in youth sports for nearly 20 years.

Parks and Recreation Director Scott Davidson told the board that a total of 259 youths have registered to play, making up 25 teams.

Davidson said that he has hired 12 part-time summer workers for various jobs around the park including umpires, scorekeepers, and concession workers.

Most of the games will be played weeknights and on Saturdays with practices scheduled for Saturday afternoon and Sunday's on a first come first serve basis.

It was also noted that the Hanover Community Park Amphitheater will be having concerts beginning Saturday, May 29 at 5:00 p.m. with Matthew Williams, Frank Pearson and Friends, and Short and Company.
