Ice Brings Problems To The Area

Some schools closed or delayed

Large area of Jefferson, Trimble and Switzerland Counties were without this morning. Jefferson County has more than 6200 customers without power
 Freezing rain produced ice bringing down power lines and limbs. 



Madison, Prince of Peace and Southwestern schools closed after going on a delay due to outages. Switzerland Co. had closed prior

Area Closings and Delays

Jefferson Co EMA has updated the county's Travel Status to ADVISORY due to multiple road closures as a result of downed trees and power lines. If you must be out use CAUTION and be prepared to alter your route(s). 

Ice continues to form over culverts and bridges. General roadways are wet but elevated surfaces are slick in spots.

Some accidents have been reported. This one near Grote.
