Indiana DNR Announces First Free Fishing Day Of The Year

On Free Fishing Days, all Indiana residents can fish the state’s public waters without a fishing license or trout/salmon stamp.

(Indianapolis, Ind.) – Indiana’s first free fishing day of the year will be this weekend.

The DNR is offering free admission to state parks, forests, reservoirs, and recreation areas on Sunday, May 2 for Free Fishing Days.

On Free Fishing Days, all Indiana residents can fish the state’s public waters without a fishing license or trout/salmon stamp. However, all size and bag limits remain in effect.

Free admission and this Free Fishing Day are offered in partnership with the Indiana Destination Development Corporation’s Visit Indiana Week, which is May 28.
