Indiana Unemployment Rate Continues To Drop

The state's jobless rate fell to 5.0 percent in October.

(Indianapolis, Ind.) – The unemployment rate in Indiana continues to drop.

According to the Indiana Department of Workforce Development, the state’s jobless rate dropped to 5.0 percent in October, down from 6.2 percent last month.

Indiana’s unemployment rate remains below the national rate of 6.9 percent.

The total labor force in the state, which includes both Hoosiers employed and those seeking employment, stands at 3.34 million, and the state’s 63.1 percent labor force participation rate remains above the national rate of 61.7 percent.

October employment data for Indiana counties, cities, and MSAs will be available Monday, November 23 at noon pending U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics validation.
