Ivy Tech Madison Student Affairs Members Win Statewide Awards

Two members of the Ivy Tech Madison Student Affairs team were selected to win these statewide awards

Each year, Ivy Tech Community College honors two student affairs professionals who have demonstrated commitment to student success and creating an environment that enriches the student experience, have sustained outstanding performance in one’s job responsibilities that is frequently above and beyond the normal scope of expectations, and proven leadership and innovation within the individual’s role and position responsibilities.

Two members of the Ivy Tech Madison Student Affairs team were selected to win these statewide awards.

Martina Stokes has been honored with the New Student Affairs Professional of the Year Award, given to an employee who has worked within the field of student affairs for less than three years.

Stokes has been with Ivy Tech Madison for five years. She began as the Administrative Assistant to the Chancellor and has been a Student Services Professional since 2019. In this role, Stokes assists students through the enrollment and financial aid process. Stokes is native to Madison, Ind., and lives downtown with her husband, Steve. Together, they are the proud parents of four adult children.

Julie Wade has been honored with the Veteran Student Affairs Professional of the Year Award, given to an employee who has worked within the field of student affairs for at least three years.

Wade has been with Ivy Tech Community College Madison for over eight years. For the past three years, she has served as the Director of Financial Aid. Prior to her current role, she worked as Student Success Professional, Financial Aid Assistant and the Front Desk Receptionist. Wade also serves as the student Veteran Affairs liaison. Wade and her husband, Chris, reside in Madison, Ind.

Stokes and Wade will be honored at the Ivy Tech Student Success Summit in French Lick, Ind. on March 31.
