Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department arrest two on unrelated child molesting charges

February 12, 2019, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department arrested two on unrelated child molesting charges.

2:30 PM Detective Yancy Denning and Chief Deputy John Wallace arrested James R. O’Riley 59, Madison, Indiana. O’Riley was arrested on a warrant after an investigated led by Detective Denning. O’Riley faces four (4) counts of child molesting Level 1 felony, four (4) counts of child molesting level 4 felony, and one (1) count of criminal confinement level 5 felony. O’Riley is currently incarcerated at the Jefferson County Jail, where he awaits his initial court appearance, on the no bond warrant.

11:20 PM Detective Yancy Denning and Deputy Josh Cochran arrested Johnathan R. Simmonds 50, Hanover, Indiana, for one (1) count of child molesting level 1 felony and one (1) count of child molesting level (4) felony. Simmonds was arrested on a warrant after an investigation led by Detective Denning. Simmonds is currently incarcerated at the Jefferson County Jail, where he awaits his initial court appearance, on the no bond warrant.

All charges are alleged and both have the presumption of innocence until proven guilty.
