Jennings County Sheriff's Office Re-Opening Lobby On Limited Basis.

The sheriff’s office has the right to refuse entry to anyone showing symptoms of COVID-19.

(Jennings County, Ind.) – Jennings County Sheriff’s Office will be re-opening their lobby on a limited basis on Monday, May 11 by appointment only.

Appointments will need to be made for Gun Permits and background checks.

On Monday, inmate visits will also resume, the visiting days and hours will be Monday- Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with the limit of two visitors, allowed at a time n the visitation area. If you are wanting to visit an inmate, appointments must be made 24 hours in advance.

The sheriff’s office will be checking visitor’s temperatures at the door before entering the building.

Commissary can be put on an inmate’s books in the lobby only during visiting an inmate, other options to add money are JailAtm.com, inmatesales.com, or a money order delivered by mail.

When entering the building it is asked that you please maintain social distancing guidelines of six feet, and mask are recommended but not required.

If you are exhibiting the symptoms of COVID-19 it is asked that you please do not enter the building.

The sheriff’s office has the right to refuse entry to anyone with the following symptoms:

  • Fever greater than 100 degrees
  • Cough
  • Sore Throat
  • Runny Nose
  • Nasal Congestion
