Kentucky State Police Arrest Grant County Man for Sex Abuse

He worked for an assistance program in Carroll Co

Carrollton, Ky. (11/23/2022) –On Thursday November 17, 2022, a Kentucky State Police Post 5 detective received information of a possible sex abuse in Carroll County.  The detective investigated the allegation to include multiple interviews.

The initial investigation alleges that Logan Epperson, a 27 year old male of Jonesville, Kentucky, used an application for assistance/services completed by the victim in Carrollton to obtain their address.  Epperson then visited the victim’s residence with the information he had obtained.  It is alleged that once inside the residence Epperson engaged in unwanted sexual contact.

As a result of the investigation Epperson was arrested on Tuesday November 22, 2022 at which time, he was charged with Sex Abuse 1st Degree as well as Harassment.  Epperson was lodged in the Carroll County Detention Center. He has since been released from the detention center.

According to a report by WDRB in Louisville, the Northern Kentucky Community Action Commission issued a statement on Wednesday afternoon concerning Epperson’s arrest, in which it said Epperson is no longer employed at the organization.

“NKCAC was deeply saddened to learn of the recently reported incident taking place in Carroll County involving its former employee, Logan Epperson. NKCAC has implemented multiple protocols, safeguards, and rules to help protect its clients and employees. As background, Mr. Epperson cleared NKCAC’s rigorous pre- employment screening process and became an NKCAC employee approximately one month ago. His NKCAC employment proceeded without issue or difficulty until the recently reported incident.

“Although NKCAC steadfastly supports the presumption of innocence in criminal proceedings, Mr. Epperson’s recent behaviors, if accurately reported and understood, occurred well outside the nature and scope of his NKCAC employment, violating multiple NKCAC policies and practices. The reported incident is unprecedented in NKCAC’s more than 50 years of service to the Northern Kentucky region. NKCAC has reached out to the individual with whom Mr. Epperson reportedly interacted and Mr. Epperson’s NKCAC employment has ended. NKCAC has fully cooperated with legal authorities reviewing this incident, and will continue to do so.”

This is an ongoing investigation.
