Kentucky State Police Charge Owen County Man with Criminal Abuse

Investigation is ongoing

OWENTON, Ky. (05/12/2022) –On April 29, 2022 Kentucky State Police Post 5 received a 911 call in reference to a 7 month old child who was choking in Owenton.  It was also reported the child may be having a seizure.  The child was transported via Air Evac to the University of Kentucky Hospital. 

Due to signs of possible abuse a Kentucky State Police Post 5 detective responded to the University of Kentucky Hospital. 

The investigation which included medical examinations and evaluations as well as interviews resulted in Isaiah Renfro, a 22 year old male from Owenton Kentucky, being charged with Criminal Abuse 1st Degree-Child 12 or Under.  Mr. Renfro was lodged at the Carroll County Detention Center. 

The investigation is ongoing and being conducted by the Kentucky State Police Post 5
