Ongoing Investigation
GALLATIN COUNTY, Ky. – On Saturday April 29, 2023 Kentucky State Police Post 5 received a request for assistance from Gallatin County dispatch in reference to a collision. The two vehicle collision that included a passenger vehicle and a motorcycle, occurred on Highway US 42 East. Troopers from KSP Post 5 responded to the scene.
The preliminary investigation indicates that a Kawasaki motorcycle operated by Joseph Gilbertson(41 year old male of Warsaw) was traveling on US 42 when it crossed the center line of the roadway. A Dodge pickup truck was traveling the opposite direction at the same time and was unable to avoid striking Mr. Gilbertson.
The Gallatin County Coroner pronounced Mr. Gilbertson deceased at the scene. Next of kin has been notified. Kentucky State Police Post 5 are conducting the ongoing investigation.
