Kentucky State Police Investigate Henry County Fatal Collision

Second collision in less then a week that State Police are investigating

                                  

CAMPBELLSBURG, Ky. (05/25/2023) – On Thursday May 25th at approximately 2:20 pm Kentucky State Police Post 5 in Campbellsburg received a call in reference to a collision on Interstate 71 southbound near the 26 mile marker. 

The preliminary investigation indicates a passenger vehicle traveling south operated by Daniel Sears of Louisville struck a box truck that was slowing with traffic due to ongoing road construction.  After striking the box truck the passenger vehicle continued traveling until striking a commercial vehicle from the rear. The Henry County Coroner pronounced Mr. Sears deceased at the scene.  There were no other occupants in the passenger vehicle.  No injuries were reported with the occupants of the other vehicles.

This is an ongoing investigation being conducted by Kentucky State Police Post 5.  KSP was assisted on scene by Lake Jericho Fire, Henry County EMS, and the Henry County Coroner.
