Preliminary investigation showed that the semi was traveling south when for an unknown reason it left the roadway.

(Carrollton, Ky.) – Yesterday, the Kentucky State Police Post 5 in Campbellsburg was notified of a single-vehicle collision on Interstate 71 southbound.
Upon the trooper's arrival, the semi-truck and trailer were fully engulfed in flames.
The fire was extinguished at which time the driver was found deceased inside the vehicle. Preliminary investigation showed that the semi was traveling south when for an unknown reason it left the roadway. The vehicle struck a bridge rail before overturning and catching fire.
The driver was identified as Darren Montgomery, 50, of Louisville.
The Carroll County Coroner pronounced him deceased at the scene.
