Kentucky's Attorney General Protects Election Integrity with Election Fraud Hotline

                                       

Kentucky Attorney General Russell Coleman announced continued efforts to protect the integrity of Kentucky elections as no excuse early voting gets underway. To keep the Commonwealth’s elections free, fair, and secure, Attorney General Coleman asks Kentuckians to report any suspected election law violations to the Attorney General’s Election Fraud Hotline at (800) 328-VOTE or online here.

“Kentuckians can trust that our elections remain free, fair, and secure. Our investigators, prosecutors, and support staff are committed to safeguarding the integrity of every ballot. Anyone who suspects an election law violation is encouraged to report it through the Attorney General’s Election Fraud Hotline,” said Attorney General Coleman.

The Election Fraud Hotline is always open to receive messages. On Election Day, the hotline is answered live by members the Attorney General’s team when polls open from 6am to 7pm ET. Tips are reviewed and allegations of election fraud will be referred to the Attorney General’s Department of Criminal Investigations (DCI). The Election Fraud Hotline team is led by Penny Thompson of the Special Prosecutions Division and Tonjua Casey of DCI.

Since January 1 of this year, 112 suspected fraud cases have been reported. Voters can track fraud complaints here.

After Election Day, the Attorney General will randomly select 12 counties for an additional inquiry. In the selected counties, DCI detectives will speak with election officials, interview voters and review documents. Then, the Special Prosecutions Division will present a report to a grand jury in each of the 12 counties.
