The Golden Hoosier Award is the highest honor bestowed upon a senior citizen from the Lt. Governor in Indiana.

INDIANAPOLIS - The Golden Hoosier Award is the highest honor bestowed upon a senior citizen from the Lt. Governor in Indiana.

It acknowledges and recognizes outstanding individuals ages 65 and over for their service and commitment to their communities.

This prestigious award, awarded annually, aims to celebrate the unsung heroes whose contributions have significantly impacted the lives of others and the community fabric, often without prior formal recognition.

To be eligible for the Golden Hoosier Award, a nominee must meet the following criteria:

  • An Indiana resident;
  • Ages 65 or older; and
  • Has actively volunteered within their community for the past three consecutive years.
