OPENING RUNWAY TO NORTH AND SOUTH
MADISON MUNICIPAL AIRPORT ON FRIDAY WERE JOINED BY STATE AND LOCAL OFFICIALS FOR THE RIBBON CUTTING OF THE AIRPORTS RUNWAY TO NORTH AND SOUTH TRAFFIC. THE AIRPORT HAS LONG BEEN RESTRICTED TO ONLY ARRIVALS FROM THE SOUTH DUE TO THE RESTRICTED AIR SPACE AT THE FORMER JEFFERSON PROVING GROUND. THE RUNWAY WAS ABLE TO BE OPEN TO THE NORTH AND SOUTH TRAFFIC WITH LEGISLATION BEING PUSHED THROUGH BY REP. GREG PENCE ALLOWING FLIGHTS IN BOTH DIRECTIONS PROVIDING FOR SAFER TAKEOFFS AND LANDINGS UNDER CERTAIN WIND CONDITIONS
