MADISON MAN ARRESTED FOR SEXUAL MISCONDUCT WITH A MINOR

Month's Long Investigation Led To Arrest

On Thursday May 16, 2024, the Madison Police Department arrested Steven R. Snell, 37, Madison, on four (4) counts of level 4 felony Sexual Misconduct with a Minor. Snell’s arrest came after a month’s long investigation led by Detective Ricky Harris. After Detective Harris learned of the initial allegations involving Snell and the juvenile victim, Detective Harris was able to secure and execute several search warrants which led to the discovery of vital evidence. Once Detective Harris’ investigation was complete, he presented his findings to the Jefferson County Prosecutor’s Office and an arrest warrant for Snell was issued. Snell is currently being held in the Jefferson County Jail in lieu of a $50,000 cash only bond. Detective Harris was assisted by Detective Kyle Cutshaw, Detective Phillip Wimpee, and Captain Bruce Heaton.

Criminal charges are merely accusations and Steven R. Snell has the presumption of innocence unless proven guilty in a court of law.
