Madison Police Respond To Report of Shots Fired

The investigation was led by Patrolmen Cameron Blankenship and Zack Nicholson.

(Madison, Ind.) – On November 23, at approximately 8:24 p.m. Madison Police responded to the report of shots being fired in the Madison Mobile Home Village.

The investigation led officers to a section of the mobile home on Skyline Drive, as officers swept the area to ensure no one was injured, they spoke with a witness, Marcus D. Box, 28, was developed as a suspect.

After completing the investigation, officers established probable cause to arrest Box for criminal recklessness (level 6 felony). Officers also recovered a sawed-off .20-gauge shotgun and spent shotgun shell.

The recovered weapon is believed to have been discharged by Box, and the source of the complaint. At this point, there is no indication the shots were fired in the direction of an individual.

A late search of Box’s person found him to be in possession of methamphetamine (level 6 felony).

During the investigation, officers located Cameron M. Kinser, 32, of Crestwood. Kinser was found to be wanted out of Clark County on a failure to appear warrant, he was also taken into custody. Kinser does not face any local charges.
