Monday, the Madison Police Department was notified of a new scam in the area. Scammers are locating home and apartment listings in Madison, Indiana and then reposting them with the scammers contact information. When persons respond to the advertisements, the scammers will attempt to collect a payment for an “application fee” or even a security deposit via an online payment application. We ask that you use caution when shopping online, and if you find a post that is suspicious please contact the Detectives Division of MPD
