Madison, Vevay Among Best Small Towns in the Midwest

Madison earned the top spot in the poll for the second year in a row.

(Madison, Ind.) - You do not have to travel far to find some of the best small towns in the Midwest. 

The votes are in for the 2025 USA Today 10 Best Readers' Choice Awards, and Madison, Indiana has been named the Best Small Town in the Midwest for the second year in a row. 

"A recognition that reflects our community's strength, historic charm, and the quality of life we're proud to offer. From our vibrant downtown to our welcoming neighborhoods, Madison continues to stand out as a place people are proud to call home," reads a statement from City Hall. 

Nearby Vevay also made the list, checking in at No. 4 overall. This is the third year in a row the Town of Vevay has been named as one of the Best Small Towns in the Midwest. 

Vevay finished in 5th place in 2024 and was 1st in 2023.
