Madison Woman Arrested For Caregiver Theft

In late January Det. Denning was contacted by the Farmers Bank of Milton with concerns that an elderly customer of theirs was being victimized by their caregiver.

(Jefferson County, Ind.) - Yesterday, June 11 Jefferson County Sheriff's Detective Yancy Denning and Special Deputy Kevin Fry arrested 41-year-old Kelli Pennington of Madison on a warrant for 2 counts of Theft (Level 5 Felony), one count of Corrupt Business Influence (Level 5 Felony), and one county of Attempted Check Fraud (Level 6 Felony).

In late January Det. Denning was contacted by the Farmers Bank of Milton with concerns that an elderly customer of theirs was being victimized by their caregiver. 

After conducting interviews and receiving bank and credit card documentation it was determined that from June 2019 until January 2020 the victim had over $100,000 taken from her bank account and credit card account fraudulently

The arrest warrant was issued on June 11 after a lengthy investigation into this matter. Bond will be set at her initial hearing
