Drug Charges

August 23, 2021, @ approximately 1:00AM Madison Police arrested Nicholas E. Tingle 35, Madison, Indiana. Tingle was taken into custody after being stopped, by Patrolman Trent Smith, for traffic violations in the 900 block of East Street. A check of Tingle's driving status revealed an active warrant for his arrest out of Decatur County, Indiana. The warrant was for failure to appear for possession of methamphetamine.
The subsequent search of Tingle's vehicle found him to be in possession of methamphetamine and marijuana. Tingle was taken into custody without incident. In addition to the Decatur County, warrant, Tingle faces local charges for possession of methamphetamine level 6 felony. Patrolman Curtis Shelpman assisted Smith with the stop.
Nicholas E. Tingle has the presumption of innocents until otherwise proven guilty.
