(undated) – Just after 9:30 a.m. Thursday Brooksburg/Milton Township Fire along with Rykers Ridge Fire Department were dispatched to the scene of an active structure fire.
Initial reports from Central Dispatch stated there was heavy smoke coming from the rear of the structure. Immediate requests for mutual aid were made to Jeff/Craig Fire and Madison Township Fire.
Four tankers were used to shuttle water from a fill site that was 3 miles away.
Two pet Huskies perished in the fire and were recovered by firefighters. No other injuries were reported. Crews were on the scene until about 1:00 p.m., the cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
