NEGLECT OF ELDERY LEADS TO ARREST

Caregiver to Elderly

On August 20, 2021 at approximately 2:20 AM, Jennings County Deputies responded to an address in Country Squire Lakes in reference to an elderly female that had been injured. During the course of the investigation, deputies determined that the female had injuries due to neglect and from physical abuse. Deputies learned that Milton “Charles” Hauk (age 69 of North Vernon) was the caregiver and had neglected his duties and caused injuries to the female.

The female was transported to an area hospital by Jennings County EMS. Hauk was arrested and is currently being held in the Jennings County Jail on the preliminary charges of:

-NEGLECT OF A DEPENDENT CAUSING SERIOUS BODILY INJURY…LEVEL 3 FELONY

-DOMESTIC BATTERY…LEVEL 4 FELONY
