Join us for a program during Fall Break

We will be hosting daily programs at Clifty Falls State Park from Oct. 8-23 while many students are on Fall Break. Discover the lives of bats, make a fun craft, go on a hike to look for animal tracks, or learn how to identify native trees. Check our calendar for more details on our website.

Tunnel closing for the season

The old railroad tunnel on Trail 5 will close for the season on Nov. 1 and will reopen on May 1, 2023. The tunnel is closed throughout the winter to protect bats throughout their hibernation period. To learn more about bat species that can be found in Indiana see wildlife.IN.gov/nongame-and-endangered-wildlife/bats-of-indiana.

Get involved, join our Friends Group!

Clifty Falls State Park has established a Friends Group, which is a group of volunteers dedicated to supporting the park through fundraising, education, and service. The next meeting will be on Oct. 13 at 6 p.m. in the Nature Center. You do not have to be a member to attend. The group is currently working on establishing new trees in the campground and working toward getting new playground equipment for the park. Check out friendsofclifty.org or like them on Facebook at facebook.com/FriendsCFSP.
