(Hanover, Ind.) - Patric Morrison, assistant athletic director at Madison Consolidated High School is being presented with one of Hanover College’s highest alumni honors.

These honors have been presented annually since 1960, recognizing Hanoverians who have enhanced the reputation of the college by making significant contributions to their community, state or nation through professional service, public service and/or civic activities.

On May 2, 2020, Morrison will be receiving the Distinguished Young Alumni Award.

Serving as Madison’s head football coach from 2013-19 Morrison gained the nation’s attention for his effort in creating a deep-rooted support system and use of real-life lessons to develop positive leaders, steering his players away from negative influences of opioid abuse and suicides that were in their lives and in the community.

In 2018, Morrison was recognized by both The New York Times and the National Football League for these efforts.

In the same year, Morrison was also named the finalist for the Indiana Youth Institute’s D. Susan Wisely Youth Work of the Year award.
