Registered Sex Offender Arrested On Two New Charges

(Jennings County, Ind.) – On Thursday, February 18 the Jennings County Sheriff’s Office arrested a North Vernon Man on a warrant for Public Indecency and Inappropriate Communication with a Minor.

On February 4, Sergeant Mike Mowery and Deputies Tyler Boswell and Dylan Smock were dispatched to Geneva Township in reference to a male subject that had exposed himself to a female minor and offered to give her a ride in his vehicle. The female ran away and told her parents who immediately called Jennings County Dispatch to report the crime.

Deputies initiated an investigation and were able to develop a suspect. In cooperation with the Jennings County Prosecutor’s Office, Deputies were able to identify the subject as 29-year-old Brandon Cameron.

Cameron is currently a registered sex offender.

An arrest warrant was issued, and he was subsequently arrested and booked in the Jennings County Jail where he is currently being held without bond.

The Jennings County Sheriff’s Office gives credit to the victim and family for their quick response in calling Jennings County Dispatch and giving a detailed description of the suspect and the suspect’s vehicle. This information was crucial to this investigation.
