Saturday Is Indiana's Final Free Fishing Day

Anglers are encouraged to bring someone new along to experience the pastime they love.

(Indianapolis, Ind.) - In order to honor National Hunting and Fishing Day on September 26, the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Division of Fish and Wildlife would like to thank sportsmen and sportswomen for their contributions to conservation through license sales and excise tax dollars.

DNR Fish and Wildlife is primarily funded through the sale of hunting, fishing, and trapping licenses.

To coincide with National Hunting and Fishing Day, the last Free Fishing Day of the year falls on September 26. Indiana residents will not need a license to find in public waters on Free Fishing Days. Anglers are encouraged to bring someone new along to experience the pastime they love.
