Search Warrant and Criminal Patrol Continue to Keep Scott County Safe

(Scott County, Ind.) - Scott County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to remain vigilant during the coronavirus outbreak. With that vigilance, they have arrested one on outstanding warrant charges, and two while out on criminal patrol.

On April 3, Deputies Kenton Makowsky and Charlie Morgan completed an ongoing investigation of the alleged use and sale of illegal narcotics. This investigation led to applying and receiving a search warrant of a residence on Jack Morgan Road in rural Austin.

After completing the search warrant the deputies arrested James Meredith, 34, of Austin for Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Paraphernalia, Possession of Marijuana and Maintaining a Common Nuisance.

On April 6, Deputy Johnney Coomer was on routine patrol when he observed a  suspicious vehicle on Lovers Lane, from that incident he then conducted a traffic stop. 

An investigation led to the arrest of two people for multiple charges.  James Shestko, 34, of Tucson, AZ., was arrested for Theft less than $750, Criminal Trespass, Burglary, Maintaining a Common Nuisance, Counterfeiting or Forgery and Violation of the Governor's Order. 

Kadie Spencer, 28, of Charlestown, IN., was arrested for Burglary, Theft less than $750, Criminal Trespass, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Paraphernalia, Visiting a Common Nuisance, Trafficking with an Inmate and Violation of the Governor's Order. 

During the course of the investigation, Deputy Coomer recovered a stolen shotgun, several stolen BB guns, and other miscellaneous stolen items.
