Shawe Students Place Among State Participants in Academic Super Bowl Contest

(Madison, Ind.) – Shawe Memorial Junior-Senior High School team members received the opportunity to compete in this year's Indiana Academic Super Bowl.

The Academic Super Bowl is an annual competition sponsored by the Indiana Association of School Principals; the contest was moved to an online format this year due to school closures.

With a total of 1,426 students competing statewide in the competition, Shawe Memorial Junior-Senior High School team members had the opportunity to compete online during the contest window from April 28 through April 30.

Shawe teams in grades 7 through 12 have been researching and studying various topics throughout the year, such as Math, English, Science, etc., with guidance from their academic team coaches. The theme for this year’s competition was “The Roaring Twenties.”

Shawe has a total of 17 students compete in the online contest.

Prince of Peace Schools is proud to announce that three Shawe students placed. Congratulations to Phoebe Grote (grade 11) who scored in the third-place category for English, Allie Riedel (grade 7) scored in the third-place category for English, and Avery Clayton (grade 7) scored in the second-place category for Social Studies.

 All three students were coached by Mrs. Andie Martin.
