Shelby Energy Announces Disconnections For Non-Payment Will Continue

Shelby Energy understands that its members have been faced with unforeseen financial hardships due to the COVID-19 crisis.

(undated) – On March 16, Kentucky’s Public Service Commission (PSC) ordered all regulated utilities to suspend disconnections for non-payment due to the COVID-19 crisis.

Shelby Energy Cooperative has since worked to assist members to develop flexible payment plans. The PSC order will be lifted on October 20, and disconnections of electric service for non-payment and regulated utilities will resume across the state.

Shelby Energy understands that its members have been faced with unforeseen financial hardships due to the COVID-19 crisis.

For this reason, Shelby Energy will allow additional time for their member to prepare for repayment of past-due balances once the PSC order has been lifted.

However, members who have past-due balances must take action as soon as possible to avoid and interruption of service once the order is lifted.

If you have any questions or would like to discuss options and work with Customer Service Specialists to create a repayment plan, you can call (800) 292-6585.
