Southwestern Hires New Superintendent, Elementary And High School Principals

Bates officially superintendent

The Southwestern Jefferson County Schools Board met for their monthly meeting yesterday evening, during which the board voted to hire three administrators.

 

The board officially hired Jeff Bates as superintendent. Bates was hired on a 3-year contract after serving as interim superintendent over the last several months after Trevor Jones moved to the Scott Co. District 1 Superintendent position.

 

 

The board also voted to hire Robert Adams as elementary school principal. Adams has been the assistant principal at the elementary.

 

 

Matt Owens was hired as high school principal. Owens has been the high school social studies teacher/ 

 

Both Adams and Owens were hired on 2-year contracts.
