State officials monitoring threat of deer disease

Not in Kentucky yet

Kentucky State wildlife officials want hunters to watch for animals suffering from chronic wasting disease.

The disease affects members of the deer family and causes holes in the brain that lead the animals to waste away.

CWD hasn't been seen in Kentucky yet, but is present in seven bordering states, with Indiana being the exception.
