Suspended License Leads to Drug Arrests

 Madison Police arrested Bonnie D. Pate 43, Madison, Indiana, and Rusty R. Wright 42, Madison, Indiana.  The arrests were the result of a traffic stop executed by Patrolman Josh Nolan.  Pate was the driver of the vehicle and was found to be operating a motor vehicle with a suspended drivers license.  

The subsequent investigation found both Pate and Wright to be in possession of methamphetamine.  In addition, Pate was charged with possession of a handgun without a valid permit. Patrolman Curtis Shelpman assisted Nolan with the arrests.

Bonnie D. Pate faces preliminary alleged charges of L-6 possession of methamphetamine, "A" misdemeanor possession of a handgun without a permit, "C" misdemeanor of possession of marijuana, and "C" misdemeanor of possession of paraphernalia,  

Rusty R. Wright faces preliminary alleged charges of L-5 trafficking with an inmate, L-6 possession of methamphetamine & "C" misdemeanor possession of paraphanailia. The trafficking with an inmate charge is the result of being in possession of narcotics after entering the jail.  Both Bonnie Pate and Rusty Wright have the presumption of innocence until otherwise proven guilty.
