DOR offers some helpful tips

With the tax season deadline this Monday, many customers are finalizing their tax returns and preparing to pay taxes owed. The Indiana Department of Revenue has several payment options available for customers to make the last-minute rush a little easier, whether paying online, in-person or by mail.

DOR offers some helpful tips and options for individuals who owe:

File by the deadline or apply for an extension before the deadline
Pay now or schedule your payment online at dorpay.dor.in.gov
Pay at a DOR office
Send in a payment with the tax filing

Paper tax returns require a postmarked date of April 15 to be considered on time. Electronic filing can be submitted online any time before April 16, including through the Indiana freefile program, which offers qualified individuals with an adjusted gross income of $66,000 or less in 2018 several options for filing both their state and federal taxes for free. All vendor options and qualifications for INfreefile can be found online at www.freefile.dor.in.gov.

Customers with questions can visit the DOR’s website for more information at dor.in.gov or contact DOR Customer Service at 317-232-2240.
