Teachers Look At Friday Rally Despite Bevin's Warning

Trimble Co. staff to attend

Kentucky teachers could be back at the capitol this Friday even though Governor Matt Bevin says another protest would be a mistake.  Unionized teachers across the state yesterday said they are considering a "sick out" on Friday because Kentucky law prevents them from striking.  Governor Bevin told reporters in Frankfort that another rally at the statehouse to oppose pension reform or push for a tax increase would be irresponsible.

Trimble County Schools will be closed Friday, so that the school educators and personnel are able to travel to Frankfort in support of public education. Friday and Saturday are the last days of the legislative session. Administrators hope that making the decision this early in the week is helpful in providing ample time to make arrangements for childcare, etc. An updated calendar will be posted later this week.
