Two Arrested For Trafficking Marijuana

A search of the vehicle uncovered marijuana, evidence of large-scale drug trafficking, and over $30,000.00.

(Jennings County, Ind.) – Two Erie Pennsylvania men were arrested on January 11 in Jennings County following a traffic stop.

At approximately 1:53 a.m., a Jennings County Sheriff’s Deputy pulled over a 2014 Mazda SUV on US 50 near 4th Street. During the traffic stop, the deputy noted the scent of raw marijuana coming from the vehicle.

While speaking with the occupant’s the deputy believed that they were trafficking marijuana or other illegal drugs.

A search of the vehicle uncovered marijuana, evidence of large-scale drug trafficking, and over $30,000.00. The currency was packaged in a way that would indicate a large scale drug trafficking operation.

25-year-old Joel Gonzalez and 26-year-old Jason Montanez both of Erie Pennsylvania were arrested and transported to the Jennings County Jail for possession of marijuana.
