Two County Pursuit Ends With An Arrest In Jennings County

It was reported that the motorcycle had reached speeds of 100 mph.

(Jennings County, Ind.) - On March 12, at approximately 1:30 p.m., Jennings County Sheriff Deputies were notified that Jefferson County Deputies were in pursuit of a motorcycle on Highway 3 near the Jennings/ Jefferson County line. 

It was reported that the motorcycle had reached speeds in excess of 100 mph while fleeing from law enforcement. 

Jennings County Deputies responded to the area as the pursuit turned Westbound onto County Road 500 South from Highway 3 and then eventually onto County Road 275 South in Jennings County. 

The driver of the motorcycle, later identified as 58-year-old Jeffery E. Linville of North Vernon, lost control of the motorcycle and drove into a ditch where he hit a speed limit sign and came to a stop. He was then taken into custody without further incident.

Jefferson County Sheriff's Office led the criminal investigation with the assistance of the Jennings County Sheriff's Office. 

Jeffery Linville was later transported to the Jefferson County jail where he was held.
